Great news everybody, we have stormtroopers. The good troops at the
alabama 501st will be coming to Crisis Con this year, and we are
thrilled to have them, I mean, what sci-fi fan doesn't love seeing
Storm Troopers wandering around a convention, I know I do. Some of them will be hosting a armor...

Hello and welcome to the home of CrisisCon 2k8 on the web. Our Mission, if you choose to believe us, is to provide a great location and atmosphere for people of like mind to come and enjoy all things geeky. We are not soley a Sci-Fi Convention. We will be heralding from the Main 5 Corners of Geekdom and Beyond. Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Anime, and Video Games.
Q. Who are you and how long have you been around?
A. First off I would like to say that this will be the first CrisisCon, so you all need to be there for the birth of awesome convention entertainment.
Q. What are you?
A. We are a Sci-fi, Anime, Comics and Games Convention.
Many times the most popular event at any convention is the Costume/Cosplay Contest. CrisisCon will be no different. We will have sign-ups and pre-judging early Saturday morning, and the contest itself will be Saturday evening. The contest will be split into 5 Main Categories as follow bellow.
Well, this party will get kicked off at 8:00pm Friday
Night, here is a bit of info for all of you that need some:
-Since it is a costume party, you will need a costume to enter the
party area. OR, you have to be dressed nice, no blue jeans
and t-shirts telling us your supposed to Donnie Darko (unless it's
the EXACT stuff Darko was wearing in the movie) and yes,
Goth/Lolita/Elegant/Cyberpunk/Steampunk outfits are good with us.
The Staff at the Door to the party have the final Say So though, and
they know to call a board member if they are on the fence about
someone.
The Iron Editor Show Down contest
is organized competition where a small pool of preselected
contestants will be tasked to create an AMV in a fixed amount of
time. This AMV will be composed using video provided by the contest
organizer, and audio provided by the contestant. Once the competition
time of 1 hour has elapsed, contestants will author and present their
videos for judging, with a winner being decided and subsequently
announced at the AMV contest award show.
Crisiscon Music Video Contest is an exhibition and competition of
fan-created music videos with an anime, scifi, fantasy or video game theme. Videos will be
submitted from across the globe and narrowed down to a group of
finalists. Those finalist videos will be screened before an audience
at Crisiscon. The audience will vote for their favorite videos and
the winners will be presented during the Crisiscon Music Video
Viewers Choice Awards.
Much like the 'Midnight Movie Marathon' we will be having on
Friday night. This one will be on Saturday Night, and will
feature Sci-Fi Movie instead of Horror Movies. Same setup
though. Our Goal is to show 3 movies that we (by we, I mean the
geeks that shall inherit the earth) think are just 'truly awesomely
bad... but still good'.
You know them, you love them, you want to play them. But why don't you play them at home instead of at a convention you might ask. Well, the answer is simple, if you play them at a convention, you get to play them beside hundreds of other people who think they are better than you... and you have to prove them wrong.
CrisisCon's Video Game room will feature a large number of systems and games from many years ago to present day. To list what all we will have available in the game room, well, you know we can't possibly do that, but there is a game room, and it will be open when the convention is open, most all day long.
NOW, we do know the current video game TOURNAMENTS that we are going to run. Those we will set in stone, and perhaps will add or take away as time draws near, but ATM this is what we'll have.
